A: The stripes on this saree are woven directly into the khaddi chiffon using fine gold zari, not printed, which is why they catch the light and hold their sheen wash after wash. This weaving technique is part of what gives the saree its dressy, evening-appropriate finish despite the otherwise minimal design.
